Senior Laboratory Technician

Supervising and coordinating scientific investigations and experiments. Supervise staff, provide technical support, and construct, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with all compliance requirements,

  • Monitoring testing to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained,

  • Aligning laboratory projects and processes towards meeting company-wide goals,

  • Analyzing needs for new equipment and assessing efficacy of proposed instrument acquisitions,

  • Analyzing requests for new tests

  • Assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications

  • In the event of non-conformance's, ensuring that results of test examinations are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning

  • Ensuring adequacy of training and competency assessment protocols in the labs

  •  Annually evaluating and documenting the performance of all testing personnel

  • Reviewing Proficiency testing performance

  • Reviewing and releasing of results as needed Serve as a mentor to laboratory staff

  • promotes interdepartmental cooperation toward meeting companywide goals

  • Partner with laboratory operations director to promote a culture of trust and transparency and drive strategic initiatives Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience

Preferred Experience
Additional Requirements
  • Masters 0-2 years

  • B.S. (3-5)

  • degree in chemistry, biology, genomics, microbiology or related field

  • Working knowledge of Document Control system,

  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs,

  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements,

  • previous supervisory experience,

  • strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills,

 

  • Familiarity in processing of plant and biological samples including extraction and qPCR analysis.

  • Experience with gas and/or liquid chromatography as well as mass spectrometry is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism).

 

  • Must meet the requirements set forth in 105 CRM 725.000 and must not have been convicted of an excluded felony offense as defined in 105 CRM 725.030

  • Able to speak and read English
